Biography

I am an experienced solicitor with a practice based in Chilliwack and Abbotsford, focusing on corporate/business transactions, commercial lending, real estate transactions, and wills/estate planning. 

I work with a broad range of clients from individuals and small business startups to large institutional lenders. I assist business clients with a wide variety of matters, including the purchase or sale of businesses, the preparation and review of contracts and leases, incorporation, shareholders agreements and corporate reorganizations. 

In my commercial lending practice, I act for both lenders and borrowers with respect to the preparation, review and registration of security documentation and have experience with both local and multi-jurisdictional transactions. 

In my real estate development practice, I assist developers with all aspects of the development process including land acquisition, municipal approvals, marketing compliance, preparation of required encumbrances, subdivision and sale of properties.  

In my estate planning practice, I assist clients with the preparation of wills, powers of attorney and representation agreements. 

I value the relationships I have built with my clients over the years. The best part of my job is the opportunity to assist my clients with the opportunities and challenges of their business and to watch them develop and grow.

I was born and raised in Southern Ontario and completed my Bachelor of Arts Degree in History at the University of Waterloo in 2003. I obtained my LLB from the University of British Columbia in 2007 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2008. Prior to joining Cherkowski Marsden LLP, I practiced for 18 years in the Fraser Valley, first as an associate and then as a partner.

When not practicing law, I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including hiking and skiing. I’m also a strong advocate for health and fitness and when time permits, I provide personal training coaching as a certified personal trainer. I am also a lieutenant with the Harrison Hot Springs Fire Department which has proven to be an incredible opportunity to become involved and give back to the community.
